Midnight Express Festival is een cross-over jazzfestival dat talent een podium biedt! Jazz wordt tegenwoordig gesampled in hiphop en jazz-achtige wereldacts als Norah Jones en Michael Bublé. Toch wordt lokaal erg weinig moderne jazz geprogrammeerd en blijft de kennis van jazz beperkt tot die paar hoofdacts. Het woord "jazz" wordt door jongeren zelfs vaak als stoffig ervaren. Midnight Express Festival is er op gericht de vernieuwende vormen van jazz een podium te bieden en studenten te laten zien dat het alles behalve stoffig is.
Midnight Express Festival is a cross-over jazz festival that provides a stage for young talent! Nowadays, jazz is sampled in hip-hop and jazzlike world acts such as Norah Jones and Michael Bublé. Nonetheless there are few local modern jazz concerts and the knowledge of jazz is limited to these few world acts. "Jazz" is often even seen as dated and old by the younger generation. Midnight Express Festival is focused on bringing new forms of jazz to the stage and showing students that jazz is anything but dated.
